CCPC appoints Ibrahim Bah as Director of Competition Enforcement

Ibrahim Bah has been appointed Director of Competition Enforcement at the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (“the CCPC”).

The mission of the CCPC is to make markets work better for consumers and businesses.  The Competition Enforcement Division plays an important part in achieving the CCPC’s mission by investigating breaches of European and Irish competition law. Ibrahim will be responsible for directing the activities of the Division and ensuring that the Division contributes to the strategic goals and objectives set out in the CCPC’s Strategic Plan.

A graduate of the University of Sierra Leone, Ibrahim holds a Masters in Economics from University of Botswana and a postgraduate diploma in EU Competition Law from Kings College, London. He has extensive experience and expertise in competition enforcement and mergers and acquisitions, most recently as an independent consultant to the EU-China Trade Project 2, where he advised on improving the merger review regime in China.

Ibrahim also held a number of expert positions including Technical Advisor to the Malaysia Competition Commission, Independent Competition Economics Consultant to the World Bank/IFC competition policy support project for Kenya, Executive Divisional Manager at the Competition Commission of South Africa and Mergers Divisional Manager at the Irish Competition Authority from 2008-2012.
