CCPC requests submissions for new strategy statement
August 24, 2020
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has an economy-wide remit to enforce competition and consumer protection law. We work to achieve our vision of open and competitive markets where consumers are protected and businesses actively compete.
Every three years, the CCPC develops a strategy statement setting out our strategic priorities, objectives and the high-level ambitions of the organisation. With our current strategy 2018 – 2020 due to expire this year, we have commenced the development of our strategy for 2021-2023.
The next three years are set to be particularly challenging for consumers, businesses and the economy as a whole with the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit already visible. New legislation will strengthen the CCPC’s enforcement powers and as an organisation we will adapt so that we are structured and ready to effectively and efficiently use these powers. With limited resources, and a significant range of responsibilities in a time of great uncertainty, it will be more important than ever that the CCPC concentrates its efforts on where we can make the greatest impact.
In developing our next strategy, we are inviting consumers, businesses and all interested stakeholders to let us know where they think the CCPC can have the greatest impact and deliver the best outcomes.
We have developed a short questionnaire which is available here. Completed submissions should be sent to communications@ccpc.ie by 5pm Thursday, September 17, 2020.
