CCPC Strategy 2024-2026 public consultation
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has an economy-wide remit to enforce competition and consumer protection law. In addition, we work to ensure that product safety standards are being complied with through relevant regulations. We work to achieve our vision of open and competitive markets where consumers are protected and businesses actively compete.
Every three years, the CCPC develops a strategy statement setting out our strategic priorities, objectives and the high-level ambitions of the organisation. With our current strategy 2021-2023 due to expire this year, we have commenced the development of our strategy for 2024-2026.
We expect the next three years will continue to be challenging for consumers, businesses and the economy. In addition, the fast-paced developments of the digital environment will also bring challenges. With new strengthened consumer and competition legislation the CCPC will use these powers to ensure businesses are treating consumers fairly and competing in a fair and open manner on the market. We will take up new roles in the digital area and continue to review our structure and practices so we can effectively respond to our wide-ranging remit and concentrate our efforts on where we can make the greatest impact.
In developing our next strategy, we are inviting consumers, businesses and all interested stakeholders to let us know where they think the CCPC can have the greatest impact and deliver the best outcomes.
