Hyundai recalls certain ‘i30 (FD)’ passenger vehicles

Hyundai Cars Ireland UC is carrying out a voluntary recall on certain Hyundai i30 (FD) passenger vehicles. The vehicles affected were produced from 3 May 2007 to 8 May 2012.
A safety issue has been identified whereby, the calibration setting of the ACU for airbag deployment was insufficient. In the event of an impact on the lower part of the vehicle body where the ACU is located, the airbag may be deployed in a situation other than the deployment condition.
2,777 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland are affected by this recall campaign.
What to do
Hyundai Cars Ireland UC has commenced contacting affected vehicle owners by letter. Affected vehicle owners will be requested to bring their vehicles to an authorised repairer where necessary works will be carried out.
