Mercedes-Benz recalls certain ‘C-Class’, ‘E-Class’, ‘CLK’ and ‘CLS’ passenger vehicles
May 28, 2020
Motor Distributors Limited (Mercedes-Benz) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain ‘C-Class’, ‘E-Class’, ‘CLK’ and ‘CLS’ passenger vehicles. The affected vehicles were produced between 1 January 2000 and 15 July 2010.
A safety issue has been identified, whereby it is possible that the bonding between the glass panel and the sliding-roof frame may not meet the specifications. In such cases, the bonding might gradually become less adhesive. This means that the connection between the glass panel and the vehicle cannot be permanently ensured over the lifetime of the vehicle. As a result, the glass panel could become completely detached from the vehicle.
The recall affects approximately 2,783 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Motor Distributors Limited will directly contact all affected customers by post, advising them to make an appointment with their local dealer/authorised repairer where all necessary repairs will be carried out.
