Universal Honda Limited recalls certain Honda passenger vehicles

Universal Honda Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of its Honda Civic, HR-V and CR-V passenger vehicles.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between 30th January 2018 and 5th March 2019.
A safety issue has been identified whereby, due to an incorrect production process of the impeller in the fuel pump, the resin density of the impeller has decreased, and the residual inspection fluid volatilises during long-term transpiration, causing minor cracks in the impeller surface layer. As a result, fuel penetrates the impeller, the fuel pump swells and deforms during use of the vehicle, causing the impeller and pump chamber to come into contact and stop. Therefore, the fuel pump does not feed fuel and the engine stops or cannot start while driving.
There are 337 vehicles affected by this recall in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Universal Honda Limited will directly contact all affected customers in September 2020, advising them to make an appointment with their local Honda Dealer or Authorised Repairer where any necessary software updates will be carried out.
