Product Safety Information Notice on certain Glen Dimplex Home Appliance Ltd Manufactured Cookers with Gas Grills

This is an update of the Product Safety Information Notice posted 23 August 2022. Updated 04/10/2022. The CCPC are currently liaising with Glen Dimplex Home Appliances and will update this notice when more information is available.
A safety issue has been identified with Glen Dimplex Home Appliance Ltd manufactured Belling, Stoves and New World Gas Range Cookers with Gas Grill (110, 100 and 90 models) (2205-0240).

The products present a risk to health and death if the grill is used with the door closed. Using the cookers with the grill door closed can cause extremely dangerous levels of carbon monoxide to be produced, which can pose a significant risk to health and death.
Products in scope of this safety warning have been purchased at any time between 2010 and 2022.
There are approximately 196 affected units in the Republic of Ireland. The CCPC expect this number to change as more information becomes available.
Glen Dimplex Home Appliances Ltd have confirmed that 182 of the affected products have been purchased by consumers in the Republic of Ireland from:
- Currys (122)
- Buy It Direct (49)
- BigBlue Product Design (5)
- B&Q (2)
- Homebase/HHGL Limited (4)
Glen Dimplex Home Appliances Ltd have confirmed that 14 of the affected products have been purchased through the following retailers in Northern Ireland and then brought into the Republic of Ireland:
- Armagh Electrical (8)
- Jamisons Gas Centre (1)
- Reillys of Enniskillen (1)
- Sams Electrical Superstore (4)
What to do:
Glen Dimplex will write to consumers in the Republic of Ireland with a safety notice to remind them to use the grill with the grill door fully open, in accordance with the instruction manual. The gas oven and hob are unaffected by this safety warning.
