The risk presented by these products is chemical. The products fail to comply with the requirements of the relevant safety standard. The products could have a lower than expected concentration of Phenoxyethanol and the mixture of the preservatives Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI) and Methylisothiazolinone (MI), prohibited in leave-on cosmetics. The products also contain Bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol), not indicated on the labelling which could lead to skin irritation.
