Mazda recalls 2, 3, and 6
May 1, 2017
Mazda Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the 2, 3 and 6.
The vehicles in question were manufactured between:
- Mazda2 (DE) 19 June 2007 and 11 September 2010;
- Mazda3 (BL) 17 December 2008 and 30 September 2010;
- Mazda6 (GH) 3 August 2007 and 31 August 2010.
Insufficient material properties can lead to the failure of the seat height adjustment. The resulting increased movement causes rattling noises under the seat. In extreme cases, this can result in the seat frame tilting over. There is a potential risk that the connection between the seat and the chassis will loosen particularly in the event of a rear-end collision, which can lead to injuries.
There are 6,963 of these vehicles on the Irish market.
What to do
Mazda Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved to arrange to have their vehicles refitted. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Mazda dealer who will arrange to do the refit free of charge. You can also contact Mazda Ireland directly on: 01 2334700
