Toyota extends recall of Hilux and Yaris
August 4, 2015
Toyota Ireland has extended its voluntary recall campaign for the Hilux and Yaris models which was announced in April this year. The recall is being carried out due to a potential problem with the front driver’s airbag. The driver’s airbag could deploy abnormally in a crash which could possibly lead to injury.
The production period of the affected Hilux and Yaris models has been extended to July 2011 so the campaign now covers vehicles produced in the period August 2003 to July 2011. There are now 21,227 vehicles affected in Ireland.
What to do
Toyota Ireland will be contacting the owners of all affected vehicles by mail and asking them to take their vehicle to a Toyota dealer. The dealer will arrange for and inspection and possible replacement of the affected part. This work will be carried out at no cost to the owner. You can get more information from Toyota Ireland directly on 01-419 0222.
