Mercedes Benz recall C-Class, GLK
March 10, 2016
Mercedes Benz Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the C-class and GLK.
The vehicles concerned were manufactured between 2006 and 2009.
Due to corrosion on internal components of the control unit, this could cause the unit to fail, resulting in the Safety Restraint System (SRS) components such as the airbags becoming deactivated. In this case, the SRS warning lamp would light up. It has therefore been decided to replace the SRS control unit on these vehicles, as a precautionary measure.
There are 1,993 affected vehicles in Ireland.
What to do
Mercedes Benz Ireland will contact the owners of affected vehicles by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a Mercedes Benz dealer. The dealer will arrange for the replacement of the affected part. This work will be carried out at no cost to the owner.
You can get more information from Mercedes Benz directly on 01-4094444, between the hours of 09:00 – 12:45 and 13:45 – 17:15.
