Toyota recalls GT86
August 5, 2016
Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the GT86. The affected models were produced between April 2012 and August 2013.
The involved models are equipped with Electric Power Steering system (EPS). On right-hand drive models (equipped with a knee airbag), the driver’s knee may occasionally press against the Air Bag cover while entering or exiting the vehicle. This may result in (EPS) electrical wire damage. Additionally under certain conditions, vibrations which occur during driving may cause damage to the wire harness of the (EPS) Electrical Control Unit. Should these conditions occur the (EPS) warning light will turn on, to alert the driver and the power steering assist will be disabled.
There are 62 affected vehicles on the Irish market.
