Toyota Avensis 270 and RAV 4 recall
August 3, 2012
Toyota Ireland is carrying out two voluntary recalls:
Toyota RAV4 vehicles manufactured between November 2005 and August 2010 and
Toyota Avensis vehicles manufactured between November 2008 and January 2011.
The reason for the recall is because of a potential problem with a Rear Suspension Arm. The issue can only occur if the rear wheel alignment is adjusted and only if the retaining nuts are improperly tightened at the time. If this occurs an abnormal knocking noise will be evident before separation of the Suspension Arm occurs.
This recall affects 3,800 ‘RAV4’ and 6,750 ‘Avensis model 270’ vehicles in Ireland.
What to do:
Letters will be sent by Toyota Ireland to customers informing them of the recall.
The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Toyota dealer who will arrange to do the required check and repair free of charge.
If you have questions or concerns you should contact your local Toyota dealer or Toyota Ireland Customer Relations for assistance on 01-4190222.
