BMW recalls 3 Series E46
July 18, 2014
BMW has issued a voluntary recall of certain 3 Series E46 models produced between May 1999 and August 2006. This recall is following on from an inspection which was carried out in May 2013.
The recall is being carried out due to a potential problem with the passenger airbag. In certain conditions, the passenger front airbag could deploy abnormally in a crash, which could possibly lead to injury.
There are approximately 12,700 vehicles affected in Ireland.
What to do
BMW Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their vehicles fitted with a new airbag inflator.
The letter will advise you to contact your nearest BMW dealer who will arrange to do the refit free of charge.
You can also contact BMW Ireland directly on 1890 719 421.
