BMW recalls BMW X3 with diesel engine Model G01 with B47x and B57x
March 27, 2018
BMW Ireland is carrying out a safety recall of BMW model BMW X3 with diesel engine Model G01 with B47x and B57x manufactured between August 02, 2017 and January 23, 2018.
The fault involves a damaged tank delivery module, which could lead to a reduction in the fuel transfer from the left-side to the right-side of the fuel tank.
Due to a fault in the supplier’s production process the affected vehicles may be equipped with a damaged tank delivery module. Therefore, the potentially affected vehicles could experience a reduction in the fuel transfer from the left-side to the right-side of the fuel tank. In certain driving conditions, a reduced transfer performance could lead to engine stalling, even though the fuel gauge would indicate a sufficient fuel level.
This recall affects 181 vehicles in Ireland.
What to do:
BMW Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their vehicles inspected. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest BMW dealer who will arrange to do the inspection free of charge. You can also contact BMW Ireland directly on 1890 719 42.
