Mazda recalls certain ‘Mazda 6’ passenger vehicles
August 24, 2018
A voluntary recall is being carried out on certain Mazda 6 passenger vehicles.
Mazda has identified a safety issue, whereby, the housing of the driver’s airbag gas generator can burst when the airbag is activated, generating excessive internal pressure. This can cause the occupants of the vehicle to be injured by metal splinters.
There are 2160 affected vehicles on the Irish market. These vehicles were produced between 03 June 2002 and 31 June 2005.
What to do:
Mazda will be contacting consumers by letter in order to arrange an appointment for necessary part replacement to be carried out.
If you believe that your vehicle may be effected by this recall then please speak to your local Mazda dealer.
