BMW recalls certain 3 Series saloon, Z4, X3M and X4M model vehicles
July 1, 2020
BMW Automotive Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain 3 Series saloon, Z4, X3M and X4M model vehicles. The vehicles were manufactured from September 27 2018 until August 1 2019.
This safety recall relates to the steering tie rod with an earlier design configuration, which may become broken in the kink groove of the tie rod on affected vehicles. Under the influence and in combination of the specific conditions of very high temperatures and excessive certain vibration loads (e.g. very poor road conditions), a swing fracture in the kink groove of the tie rod due to extensive bending load cannot be excluded. In this case, the risk of an accident would be increased.
This recall affects 131 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
BMW Automotive Ireland Limited will directly contact all affected customers advising them to make an appointment with their local dealer/authorised repairer, where any necessary replacement of parts will be carried out.
If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall BMW Customer Service may be contacted directly on 1890 719 421, or alternatively through the following web form.
