Ford recalls Ranger and Everest passenger vehicles
October 24, 2019
Ford Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of Ford Ranger and Ford Everest passenger vehicles.
The production range of the affected vehicles is from February 2004 to September 2014. Takata airbags fitted to some Ranger and Everest vehicles contain an inflator propellant that, in some inflators, may experience a material alteration over time.
This issue could create excessive internal pressure when the airbag is deployed which could result in the body of the inflator rupturing and metal fragments entering the passenger compartment, potentially causing severe injury or death to the vehicle occupants
There are 949 affected vehicles on the Irish market.
What to do
Ford Ireland will contact all affected owners and make the necessary arrangements for works to be completed on the affected vehicles. You can contact Ford Ireland on 1800 771199.
