Henry Ford & Son Limited recalls certain passenger vehicles
August 28, 2020
Henry Ford & Son Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Ford Kuga PHEV passenger vehicles.
The vehicles in question were produced between 01/07/2019 to 15/07/2020. There are 329 vehicles affected on the Irish market.
A safety issue has been identified, whereby an internal or charging fault could cause the High Voltage (HV) battery pack to vent hot gas. As such gases have not been routed away from other components, they will cause them to exceed their designed working temperatures. Overheating of components such as the fuel tank and fuel lines will increase the risk of the vehicle catching fire.
‘What to do’
Ford Ireland will be writing to all affected vehicle owners directly advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer so that this check or rework may be carried out.
