Henry Ford & Son Limited recalls certain ‘Transit and Transit Custom’ passenger vehicles

Henry Ford & Son Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain ‘Transit and Transit Custom’ passenger vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby a number of left-hand lower control arms may have been released into production where the weld penetration does not meet specification. During a vehicle test, the left-hand lower control arm fitted to the vehicle showed signs of a crack forming. Further testing on the part, found a lack of weld penetration on weld 2. Investigations at the supplier found that a wire feeding problem was recorded over a period of 2 days production.

There are approximately 135 affected vehicles on the Irish market.

The affected vehicles were manufactured between 02 June 2020 and 15 September 2020.

What to do:

Henry Ford & Son Limited will contact affected customers in writing to request that they get in touch with their local dealer/authorised repairer to have any necessary rectification work completed.
