Hyundai recalls certain ‘Kauai’ passenger vehicles

A voluntary recall is being carried out by Hyundai Cars Ireland UC on certain Hyundai Kauai passenger vehicles. The vehicles affected were produced from May to December 2018.
A safety issue has been identified whereby, it is possible that due to a programming error which could affect the impact sensors in the Airbag Control Unit, that the airbags may not deploy correctly during an impact and thus, increasing the risk of injury.
It is possible that up to 558 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland are affected by this recall campaign. Vehicle owners will be contacted directly by Hyundai Cars Ireland UC and will be requested to bring their vehicles to an authorised repairer where necessary works will be carried out.
