Lexus extends recall to include Lexus IS models

Lexus Ireland is extending its recall of the 14th May 2015 to include certain IS models. The production period extends from September 2005 to December 2008.
The subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger air bag inflators which could have been affected by prolonged exposure to high humidity with high ambient temperatures. In this condition the air bag inflator may rupture, resulting in the front passenger air bag deploying abnormally in a crash, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants.
There are 2,536 affected vehicles in Ireland.
What to do:
Lexus Ireland will be writing directly to those customers involved in this recall to arrange to have their vehicles re-fitted. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Lexus dealer who will arrange to do the refit free of charge. Lexus Ireland can be contacted on: 01 4190222
