Lexus Ireland recalls CT200h
July 1, 2016
Lexus Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain CT200h vehicles. The period of manufacture extends from December 2010 until January 2015.
The vehicles concerned are equipped with an evaporative fuel control unit (canister) that is mounted in the fuel tank. There is a possibility that cracks could develop in the outer portion of the canister due to improper shaping. As a result of this condition, the cracks could expand over time and, eventually, fuel may leak from these cracks when the vehicle has a full tank of petrol. For all involved vehicles, Toyota and Lexus dealers will replace the canister with an improved one.
There are 407 affected vehicles on the Irish market.
What to do
Lexus Ireland will be writing directly to those customers involved in this recall to arrange to have their vehicles checked and re-fitted if necessary. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Lexus Dealer/Authorised Repairer who will arrange to do the check/repair free of charge. Lexus Ireland can be contacted on: 01 4190222.
