Mazda Motor Ireland recalls certain Mazda 3 vehicles

Mazda Motor Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Mazda 3 vehicles.
The vehicles affected and their manufacture dates are:
– Mazda 3 with M Hybrid and Manual Transmission manufactured from 7 November 2018 to 5 September 2019
– Mazda 3 with M Hybrid manufactured from 8 November 2018 to 3 July 2019
A safety issue has been identified, where on certain Mazda 3 vehicles the automatic idling restart (IR) may fail and engine stall may occur when restarting after engine idle stopping (i-stop). In other cases, an engine stall may occur when the clutch pedal is depressed deeply just after keeping the half clutch condition for 0.5 seconds or more with the engine speed exceeding 1,200 rpm after the clutch is engaged.
This recall affects 162 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Mazda Motor Ireland will directly contact all affected customers advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer where any necessary repairs will be carried out.
