Mercedes-Benz recalls certain passenger vehicles
March 19, 2020
Mercedes-Benz is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Mercedes-Benz Sprinter passenger vehicles.
The vehicles in question were produced between 8.2.2019 to 19.6.2019. There are 217 vehicles affected on the Irish market.
A safety issue has been identified, whereby faulty software may cause the rear lights to fail or to be lit too weakly if the light selector switch is operated quickly, thereby preventing subsequent traffic from detecting the vehicle. Users require an update of the coding in the control unit software of the body control module.
‘What to do’
Mercedes-Benz will be writing to all affected vehicle owners directly advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer so that this remedial work may be carried out.
If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, then you can contact Mercedes-Benz directly on 01-4094444 between the hours of 09:00 – 12:45 and 13:45 – 17:15.
