Mercedes-Benz recalls E-class
March 6, 2017
Mercedes-Benz Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the E-class produced between October 2014 and November 2016.
It has been established that in certain right-hand-drive E-class vehicles (BR 213) the wiring harness of the front windscreen wiper motor may have been positioned near the windscreen wiper rod linkage in breach of the specifications. In this case the windscreen wiper rod linkage in right-hand-drive vehicles might damage the wiring harness while the vehicle is in motion. Damage to the wiring harness of the windscreen wiper motor might cause a short circuit, with a potential failure of the motor.
There are 988 affected vehicles in Ireland.
What to do:
Mercedes-Benz Ireland will contact the owners of affected vehicles by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a Mercedes-Benz dealer. The dealer will arrange for the replacement of the affected part. This work will be carried out on a phased basis and at no cost to the owner.
You can get more information from Mercedes-Benz directly on 01-4094444, between the hours of 09:00 – 12:45 and 13:45 – 17:15.
