Mercedes-Benz recalls X-Class vehicles
June 17, 2019
Mercedes-Benz is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain X-Class models which were manufactured between April 2017 and December 2018.
In affected vehicles, erroneous information on the torque in the instructions for retrofitting a tow hitch could lead to the fastening screws on the cross bar being damaged. It cannot be ruled out that the screw connection could fail, leading to the tow hitch disengaging from the towing vehicle.
Up to 85 vehicles have been affected in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Mercedes-Benz Ireland will contact the owners of affected vehicles by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a Mercedes-Benz dealer. The dealer will arrange for the necessary reworks. This work will be carried out at no cost to the owner.
Further information is available from Mercedes Benz directly on 01-4094444.
