Nissan recalls Almera, Navara, Patrol, Teana, Terrano, Tino, X-Trail

Nissan Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the Almera, Navara, Patrol, Teana, Terrano, Tino,X-Trail. The vehicles concerned were manufactured between 6 January 2004 and 28 November 2012.
A defect in the gas generator of the passenger airbag causes uncontrolled inflation and the release of metal fragments when the airbag is activated, which can cause injury to the occupants.
There are 30,000 affected vehicles on the Irish market.
What to do:
Nissan Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their vehicles checked and if necessary fitted with a new gas generator.
The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Nissan dealer who will arrange to carry out the necessary inspection/replacement free of charge.
