Nissan recalls Almera, Tino, Terrano, XTrail, D22 Pathfinder, Y61 Patrol
May 26, 2015
Nissan has issued a voluntary recall of certain Nissan Almera, Tino, Terrano, XTrail, D22 Pathfinder and Y61 Patrol. This is an extension to a previous campaign which was initiated at the end of 2013. The original affected production range was from 2000 to 2004.
This new campaign extends this range from 2001 to 2007. The recall is being carried out due to a potential problem with the front passenger airbag. The passenger airbag could deploy abnormally in a crash which could possibly lead to injury. There are approximately 23,000 vehicles affected in Ireland.
What to do
Nissan Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their vehicles checked and if necessary fitted with a new inflator. Vehicles that had the air bag replaced during the initial check are not affected by this recall. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Nissan dealer who will arrange to carry out the necessary inspection/replacement free of charge. You can also contact Nissan Ireland directly on 1850 302 302.
