Opel Ireland initiates second Zafira B recall
August 15, 2016
Opel Ireland is initiating a second voluntary recall of certain Zafira B models to replace the current soldered fuse resistor with a wax fuse resistor.
The affected vehicles fall within the VIN range from: W0L0AHM7552114056 to W0L0AHM75E2109906 and are manufactured between 10/02/2005 and 24/10/2014 (and are equipped with manual air conditioning).
This recall is being carried out because of a risk of fire. Investigations have concluded that the root cause is improper repair of the thermal fuse of the resistor in the heating and ventilation system.
There are 8,251 affected vehicles in Ireland.
Note: Right hand drive vehicles in the chassis range equipped with electronic climate control are not affected.
What to do:
Opel Ireland will contact the owners of all affected vehicles by mail and ask them to take their vehicle to an Opel dealer. The second recall entails installing an additional water deflector, replacing the resistor of the heater fan motor and checking the heater fan motor and replacing it if needed. This work will be carried out at no cost to the owner. You can get more information from Opel Ireland directly on 01-533 9818.
