Opel recalls certain Astra-J and Zafira-C passenger vehicles

A voluntary recall is being carried out by Opel Automobile Ireland Limited on certain Astra-J (Model Number P10), and Zafira-C (Model Number P12), passenger vehicles. The vehicles affected were produced from 2010 to 2014.
Opel Automobile Ireland Limited has identified a safety issue whereby, it is possible that due to a software issue that the hill start assist feature may not work correctly in affected vehicles. As a result, the hill start assist may hold the vehicle on a gradient for a period of time which exceeds the correct specification. In the worst case scenario, the vehicle could roll backwards down the gradient, leading to impacts, accidents, and injuries.
Approximately 1,002 vehicles In the Republic of Ireland are affected by this recall campaign. Vehicle owners will be contacted directly by Opel Automobile Ireland Limited and will be asked to bring their vehicles to an authorised repairer where necessary software updates will be carried out.
