Product Safety Information notice on an EDELRID Mega Jul Belay Device and Descender

A safety issue has been identified with an EDELRID Mega Jul Belay Device and Descender.

The risk reported to the CCPC is that of injuries. A defect has been found in the follower’s loop which may cause the product to fail and the user to become injured.

The brand is EDELRID. The type/number of model is Mega Jul. The batch number is 04/20. The bar code is unknown.

There are approximately 46 possible affected products in the Republic of Ireland. This product was available to purchase from the following retailers:

• Great Outdoors
• Decathlon Sports Ireland
• Kitlist

What to do:

Customers should stop using the product immediately.
