A safety issue has been identified with Various Baby Swaddle Blanket Sleep Bags sold on Amazon.

The product presents a risk of overheating and suffocation. In some of the images on the Amazon website, the child’s head is covered by the product, and in others there are loose flaps which could cover the head. The design of the product allows the baby to slip below the covers causing overheating and potentially airway obstruction, both of which have been associated with sudden infant death syndrome.

The product was sold online through Amazon. There are approximately 48 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
