Seat Ireland recalls certain Seat ‘Alhambra’ passenger vehicles
June 12, 2020
Seat Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Seat ‘Alhambra’ passenger vehicles.
In the vehicles concerned, there is a possibility of an airbag control unit condenser failing due to an insufficient thermal treatment. This condenser fault can cause a modification in the sensor signal. As a result, the control units interprets the modification in the sensor signal as a signal similar to that of a collision (incorrect detection of frontal collision) and the airbag(s) and seat belt tensioners are triggered.
The vehicles in question were manufactured between 16 May 2015 and 10 December 2015.There are approximately 214 vehicles affected on the Irish market.
What to do:
Seat Ireland will be writing directly to all affected customers advising them to make an appointment with their local dealer/authorised repairer, where any necessary repairs/replacement of parts will be carried out.
If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, then you can contact Seat Customer Care on 1850 812 763 or by completing the web form.
