SKODA Ireland recalls Octavia, Rapid and Citigo

July 7, 2016

SKODA Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the Octavia, Rapid and Citigo. The manufacturing period extends from 25 November 2015 until 14 April 2016.

On vehicles with a manual child lock of a certain production period the lever of the child lock can break because it was damaged during the production process. As a result, an activated child lock can be unnoticeably switched off, especially in the case of strong jolts. The door can then be opened from the inside putting rear seat occupants at risk.

There are 1,490 affected vehicles on the Irish market.

What to do

SKODA Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their vehicles checked. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest authorised SKODA Service Centre who will carry out the check and if needed the rectification, free of charge.

You can also contact SKODA Ireland directly on: 1850 812 764.
