Toyota Ireland recalls certain ‘Yaris’ hybrid passenger vehicles
June 28, 2019
Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Toyota Yaris hybrid model passenger vehicles. The vehicles in question were manufactured between February 2018 and October 2018.
The hybrid system of the subject vehicles includes a DC-DC converter that charges the auxiliary battery. A safety issue has been identified with the Circuit Board in the DC-DC Converter. If the vehicle is continuously operated with this issue, loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds could increase the risk of a crash.
This recall affects 189 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to customers affected by this recall to arrange to have the vehicle inspected and parts replaced if necessary. Consumers affected by this voluntary recall will need to contact their nearest Toyota Dealer who will arrange to do the repair free of charge.
