Toyota Ireland recalls passenger vehicle models Auris, Avensis, Corrolla and RAV4

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of Auris, Avensis, Corrolla and RAV4 models.

For the subject vehicles there is a possibility that during the previous injector removal or replacement, an incorrect tightening torque was applied at the moment of injector re-installation.

If this were to occur, through continuous usage, fuel may leak through the injector hole and an odour may be detected from the engine area.

The recall affects 50 vehicles in Ireland. The affected Auris vehicles were produced in July 2015. The affected Avensis models were produced between May 2015 and May 2016. The affected Corolla vehicles were produced between January 2014 and May 2016. The affected RAV4 vehicles were produced between October 2015 and April 2017.

What to do:

Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to those customers involved in this recall to arrange to have the involved parts inspected and replaced if necessary.

The letter will also advise consumers affected by this voluntary recall to contact their nearest Toyota Dealer/Authorised Repairer who will arrange to do the repair free of charge. Toyota Ireland can be contacted on: 01 419 0222.
