Toyota Recall Avensis and RAV 4

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Avensis and RAV 4 motor vehicles.

For the Avensis this recall affects vehicles manufactured: between June 2016 and July 2016;

For the RAV 4, this recall affects vehicles manufactured: between August 2016 and November 2017.

With regards to these vehicles they are equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine. The risk identified with these vehicles is a possibility that the bolts on the exhaust –side of the turbocharger assembly may not have been correctly tightened due to defective tightening equipment. As a result the bolts could loosen over time, causing insufficient sealing of the turbocharger and could allow gas leakage.  There are 552 vehicles in Ireland affected by this recall.
