Toyota recalls Passenger vehicle model Proace

August 28, 2018

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain model Proace.

The subject vehicles are equipped with incorrect engine oil software leading to no detection of oil temperature above a certain threshold. In this condition, there is a possibility that the oil pan would deform due to too high engine oil temperature. If this occurs, engine oil might leak and hit the ground.

This particular model affects 153 vehicles in the Irish market that were manufactured in May 2016 to February 2018.

What to do:

Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to those customers involved in this recall to arrange to have the engine ECU Software reprogrammed.  The letter will also advise consumers affected by this voluntary recall to contact their nearest Toyota Dealer/Authorised Repairer who will arrange to do the repair free of charge. Toyota Ireland can be contacted on: 01 419 0222.
