Toyota recalls Prius, Prius+, Auris and Corolla

Toyota Ireland are carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the Prius, Prius+, Auris and Corolla. The period of manufacture is from October 2006 until January 2015.

The vehicles concerned are equipped with an evaporative fuel control unit (canister) that is mounted in the fuel tank. There is a possibility that cracks could develop in the outer portion of the canister due to improper shaping. As a result of this condition, the cracks could expand over time and, eventually, fuel may leak from these cracks when the vehicle has a full tank of petrol.

There are 11,181 affected vehicles on the Irish market.

What to do

Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to those customers involved in this recall to arrange to have their vehicles checked and re-fitted if necessary. The letter will advise you to contact your nearest Toyota Dealer/Authorised Repairer who will arrange to do the check/repair free of charge. Toyota Ireland can be contacted on: 01 4190222.
