Universal Honda Limited recalls certain Honda passenger vehicles
September 2, 2020
Universal Honda Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of its Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, Integra, Logo, Legend, Odyssey and Shuttle passenger vehicles. The affected vehicles were manufactured between 1996 and 2000.
A safety issue has been identified, where in certain vehicles Takata Non-Azide Driver Airbag Inflators have the potential to exhibit elevated moisture ingress due to insufficient aluminium tape seal. This can lead to slow deployment, which may result in insufficient protection by the driver frontal airbag, or there may be over-aggressive combustion creating excessive internal pressure when the driver frontal airbag is deployed. The recall affects up to 1859 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Universal Honda Limited will directly contact all affected customers advising them to make an appointment with their local Honda Dealer or Authorised Repairer where any necessary work will be carried out.
If you believe your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, then you can contact Honda on (01) 642 3100 or alternatively on the following web form.
