Volkswagen Group Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of Volkswagen models Tiguan Allspace produced between January 2018 and March 2018.

Volkswagen AG has established that on vehicle models Tiguan Allspace have an incorrect weld on the lower on the lower securing eye of the rear gas-filled shock absorbers. As a result the shock absorber attachment on the rear axle may come loose and affect vehicle handling.

This affects 178 cars in Ireland.

What to do:

Volkswagen Ireland will be writing directly to relevant owners to arrange to have their vehicles checked. The letter will advise owners to contact their nearest authorized Volkswagen Service Centre, which will carry out the check, and if needed, any rectification free of charge.
