Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited recalls certain passenger vehicles
July 13, 2020
Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of a number of Volkswagen Golf passenger vehicles.
The vehicles in question were manufactured between 18 November 2019 and May 2020. There are 538 vehicles affected on the Irish Market.
Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited has established that in Golf 8 vehicles manufactured during a limited period, there is a possibility that the call service does not function. In the event of a fault or an accident, the system cannot help the customer. The call centre/rescue coordination centre cannot be activated because of the lack of audio connection and data transmission. The customer is not alerted to a defect in the system.
What to do:
Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited will write directly to the registered owners of the affected vehicles, informing them of the recall and listing the next steps to be taken.
If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall campaign, then you can contact Volkswagen Customer Care on 1850 81 2761, or alternatively, speak to your local Volkswagen Retailer for further information.
