Volkswagen Ireland recall
October 30, 2014
Volkswagen Ireland is recalling a number of Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TDI vehicles. These vehicles were produced between 2010 and 2014 and are fitted with the 1.2 TDI 55KW engine.
A total of 1,256 vehicles are affected by this recall in Ireland.
Volkswagen AG has found that, in isolated cases, vibrations can be transmitted to the cover of the fuel filter. This is due to the pressure pulsations in the fuel lines and the engine pulsations when driving. This can crack the filter cover in the area of the supply neck which can lead to a smell of fuel inside the vehicle and a leak of diesel fuel.
What to do
Volkswagen Ireland will issue letters to owners of the affected vehicles. They will be asked to arrange an appointment to have the work completed at their authorised Volkswagen service agent. Any work carried out as part of this recall will be free of charge to the customer. Consumers affected by the recall should contact Skoda customer service on call-save 1850 812 764.
