Volvo Car Ireland Limited recalls certain passenger vehicles
January 8, 2020
Volvo Car Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of a number of models of its Volvo passenger vehicles.
Affected Volvo Models: V40, V40CC, S60, S60CC, V60, V60CC, S80, V70, XC70, XC60, S90, V90, V90CC and XC90.
The vehicles in question were manufactured between November 2012 and June 2016.
There are 754 vehicles affected on the Irish Market.
Volvo Car Ireland Limited has established there is a possibility that in specific driving conditions the engine’s plastic inlet manifold may melt and deform. Drivers may notice unusual engine operation, including but not limited to, the engine management light being lit, an engine interruption and/or a lack of power. An unusual smell may also be noticed. In the worst-case scenario this may cause a localised engine bay fire to develop.
What to do:
Volvo Car Ireland Limited will be writing directly to those consumers affected by this recall.
The letter will advise affected vehicle owners to contact their nearest Volvo Dealer or Authorised repairer where the soot reducing software will be inspected and updated.
