Volvo Car Ireland Limited recalls certain passenger vehicles

Volvo Car Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of a number of Volvo passenger vehicles which are listed below:

Volvo Models: S80, S60, V70, XC70, S60CC, V60, XC60, V60CC, V40 and V40CC

 

The vehicles in question were manufactured between November 2012 and February 2017. There are 931 vehicles affected on the Irish Market.

Volvo Car Ireland Limited has established that when changing the engine coolant there is a risk for trapped air to be in the cooling system afterwards, this may result in insufficient cooling of engine components, and in very rare causes, cause a fire in the engine bay.

What to do:

Volvo Car Ireland Limited will be writing directly to those consumers affected by this recall.

The letter will advise affected vehicle owners to contact their nearest Volvo Dealer or Authorised repairer where the vehicle will be inspected and repaired in line with the recall.
