Volvo recalls certain “XC60” passenger vehicles
August 28, 2020
Volvo Car Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain “XC60” passenger vehicles. The affected vehicles were produced between 20 May 2017 and 25 May 2020.
A safety issue has been identified, whereby it is possible that the vehicles may have incorrectly tightened front wiper arm securing nuts. If one or both of the nuts were to loosen this may result in the wiper arm contacting the bonnet causing an unusual noise. In a worst-case scenario there could be reduced or no wiper function, leading to reduced visibility whilst driving. A resulting impact could not be ruled out.
The recall affects approximately 1, 250 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
Volvo Car Ireland Limited will directly contact all affected customers by post advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer where any necessary repairs/replacement of parts will be carried out.
