Volvo recalls S90, V90 and XC90
September 28, 2016
Volvo Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain models of the S90, V90 and XC90.
The manufacturing periods of the affected vehicles are as follows:
- S90 26/02/2015 to 07/09/2016
- V90 12/02/2016 to 19/09/2016
- XC90 15/04/2015 to 19/09/2016
The air conditioning system’s drain hose may not have been fully assembled. This could potentially allow condensation from the air conditioning system to enter the interior of the vehicle, instead of draining outside as intended. This could lead to air conditioning functionality issues.
In a worst case scenario, if the condensation is not detected inside the vehicle for a period of time, it is possible other electrical systems may become affected together with warning messages being displayed in the driver’s information module.
There are 538 affected vehicles on the Irish market.
What to do
Letters will be sent by Volvo to the owners of affected vehicles informing them of the recall and asking that they arrange for an appointment to have the required work completed.
You can also contact your nearest Volvo dealer to enquire if your vehicle is involved. Any work carried out as part of this recall will be completed free of charge. You can contact Volvo Customer Relations team on 01-4631220.
